Podcast SummaryThe King Street Sounds / Nite Grooves podcast, featuring new releases, exclusive interviews, and DJ mixes from the King Street / Nite Grooves family of artists. About KingKing Street Records, started with the famous Paradise Garage nightclub, and home of the legendary Larry Levan. Dance music luminaries such as Francois Kevorkian and Junior Vasquez credit the Paradise Garage as a major influence in their styles and even in their decisions to become DJs. Born of this musical phenomena in 1993, was BPM King Street Sounds. Hisa Ishioka founded the label to continue the ten year tradition of soulful-spiriual house music that the dub helped give birth and lend an ear to in the 80"s. Hisa, the head of New York’s longest-running independent dance label reflects on more than a decade of house music, which has yielded some of the sweetest dance records ever. King Street has established itself as the most respected label in dance music today, by bringing such sounds as future soul, Nu jazz, Deep progressive house, and Afro-abstract excursions to the forefront. Our success is a combination of many factors with a focus on working with some of the hottest dance producers in addition to aggressively seeking out new talent. This combination has helped us build a solid following for our labels and releases. And in turn has allowed us to keep the house music genre to be alive and well and conitinue to grow, after checking out some of our tracks dont be shy to learn more about us at www.kingstreetsounds.com....
